"We do not serve the visa - we serve the client."

We are not going to try to "sell" you on a particular type of visa. We don't do "cookie cutters". Each case, each client is unique, and we make it our priority to understand you - your current situation, your U.S. immigration history, your personal and professional goals, and how your presence in the United States will facilitate the achievement of your goals. We then consider a broad range of visa options appropriate to these objectives and your circumstances.

Because the attorneys at JIL are experienced in all visa categories, we don't subscribe to "one size fits all". We will optimally select and obtain the "best fit" visa based on the characteristics and objectives of the individual seeking entry or extension of stay in the U.S., the needs of the U.S. employing entity (if applicable), and the current immigration landscape.

We handle visa issues for:

  • Professionals and specialists - recent university graduates and new hires (H-1B)
  • University professors, researchers, scientists
  • Business visitors, unpaid interns (B)
  • Transferees from non-U.S. affiliates (L)
  • Corporations seeking cost-saving visa strategies, such as blanket petitions
  • Entrepreneurs, investors, traders, and their employees (E)
  • Employees for special projects (such as H2B)
  • Members of the foreign press
  • Artists, musicians, athletes, entertainers
  • Participants in trainee programs (Js, H-3s, F-1 practical training)
  • Individuals seeking employment pursuant to Free Trade Agreements
  • Individuals of "extraordinary ability" (O)
  • Cultural exchange visa opportunities (J, Q)
  • Foreign nationals seeking inadmissibility waivers - on all grounds
  • Spouses and dependents
  • Foreign nationals desiring to reside long-term in the United States or desiring U.S. citizenship

Cases we do not handle.

In order to provide the best possible service, we limit the types of immigration cases that we handle. We do not handle deportation matters, asylum, or serious criminal immigration matters. However, we have alliances with other excellent law firms that focus exclusively or extensively on these complex areas, and will make referrals in appropriate cases.
